CU Presents

CU Presents is a part of the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Music. We present over 50 ticketed concerts every year as well as numerous educational and outreach events. CU Presents includes the Artist Series, CU Opera (including the CU New Opera Workshop), the Takács Quartet Chamber and Encore Series, and the Holiday Festival. CU Presents welcomes over 40,000 concertgoers to its events every year.

Education and outreach is an important part of CU Presents. Faculty and guest artists are involved in many outreach activities including master classes, workshops, and lectures.

Artist Series

Most Artist Series concerts include a host of educational opportunities open to the public. Most guest artists present master classes working with College of Music students which members of the public are welcome to observe. Special events such as dance classes and all-day jazz programs are also featured. Please call the Box Office at 303-492-8008 to learn more about upcoming events.

In addition, concertgoers are invited to attend informative Pre-Concert Conversations before every Artist Series concert. These talks are hosted by CU-Boulder faculty experts and feature an informal discussion of the evening's repertoire or performer. Pre-Concert Conversations are held 45 minutes prior to each Artist Series performance. All talks will be held in Macky Room 102 and are free of charge.

CU Opera for Children Program

The CU Opera for Children program was established to allow children throughout Colorado to experience a live performance of some of the best musical theatre CU has to offer. Presented by the students of the College of Music, these performances are complete with costumes and scenery. The touring company presents 45-minute productions, which are appropriate for kindergarten through sixth grade children.
