Accessibility Guide for Concertgoers with Disabilities

Please choose the concert venue for which you would like information:

MACKY AUDITORIUM

(Artist Series, CU Opera, Holiday Festival, CU College of Music events)
All patrons with mobility disabilities should enter via the front entrance of the Auditorium. Handicapped parking is available by the front doors of Macky Auditorium and there is a ramp for easy access to the building through the farthest west front door. To access the front entrance of the building, turn north off of University Ave onto Macky Drive (into campus). For all Artist Series, CU Opera, and Holiday Festival concerts, a parking attendant will hand-collect $3.00 and guide patrons to the circle drive for drop off or to nearby reserved handicapped parking spaces.

Seating for Wheelchair Users and Persons with Mobility Disabilities
Macky Auditorium has three designated seating areas for wheelchair users and all are located on the main floor. They are: House Left, Row A, Seat 7 (1 space), Row JJ Seat 0 (2 spaces), House Right, Row M, Seat 0 (2 spaces), for a total of 5. If the patron prefers, they may sit in their reserved seat, and their wheelchair will be stored by an usher at the back of the Hall behind the last row in any section. Wheelchairs may not be stored or occupied in the aisle as per fire regulations. Aisle seating is also available for patrons with mobility disabilities.  We regret that none of the aisle seats in Macky Auditorium have removable armrests. There is an elevator located at the west end of the main lobby.  The elevator goes to the Loge 1 (first balcony) level only. Loge 2 and Loge 3 sections of the hall must be accessed by stairs.  Please note that the only restrooms in Macky Auditorium are located on the main floor.

Audio Enhancement
Macky Auditorium offers Phonic Ear® hearing assistance system for patrons. Portable Phonic Ear® receivers can be used with or without a   hearing aid. Please visit the west box office to check out a unit. A driver’s license or other ID is required.

Service Dogs
Service dogs are welcome at all performances. For events requiring a reserved seat, please request an aisle when purchasing tickets.

Grusin Music Hall is located in the Imig Music Building. Patrons with mobility disabilites should arrive via the main, west-facing entrance to the building. The Imig Music Building is located on the corner of 18th and Euclid Ave. Patrons can be easily dropped off at the front entrance of the building. Handicapped parking spaces are available in the north-east corner of the Euclid Avenue Autopark as well as the north-east corner of surface parking Lot 204.  (Both lots are located across the street, west of the Music Building.) The cost for parking in these lots is $3.00 for weekends and evenings.  Some metered parking is also available on 18th street immediately in front of the Music Building; these metered spaces are not specifically reserved for handicapped persons.

Seating for Wheelchair Users and Persons with Mobility Disabilities
Grusin Music Hall has three designated areas for wheelchair users.  They are: Right Section, Row A, Seats 3,4 (two spaces), Left Section, Row A, seats 3,4 (two spaces), and Center Section Row A, seats 9,10 (two spaces), for a total of 6. The seats must be removed to accommodate wheelchairs and so advanced notice (by calling 303-492-8008) is recommended. If advanced notice is not possible, the stage manager or house manager will remove seats upon request.  Please note that not all seating locations may be available for sold out performances. If the patron prefers, they may sit in their reserved seat and their wheelchair will be stored by an usher at the back of the hall.  Wheelchairs may not be stored or occupied in the aisle as per fire regulations.
