Please note the Thursday, July 29 performance has been cancelled. All other CU NOW performances will be held as scheduled.
A naïve small-town girl moves to her sister's drab apartment in Chicago, and begins a grueling factory job. Carrie’s means are small, but her dreams are large. Soon, she is drawn into a new world of fashion, luxury and forbidden love, as two very different men overturn their lives for her sake. Their love triangle is the stuff of classic fiction and of great new opera!
Get a rare glimpse behind the scenes, with this opera workshop performance featuring composers Robert Aldridge and Herschel Garfein. College of Music singers perform well-known pieces by Aldridge and Garfein followed by an excerpt from Sister Carrie with live commentary from the composer.
