The Autumn Orchard is based on the life of Spanish Civil War poet Miguel Hernandez. While in prison dying from tuberculosis, Hernandez wrote passionate, powerful letters to his wife who was struggling to survive in poverty & war. Their desperate tale of love and hope is captured in this new operatic work.
Get a rare glimpse behind the scenes, with this opera workshop performance featuring CU-Boulder composer Daniel Kellogg. College of Music singers perform well-known pieces by Kellogg followed by an excerpt from The Autumn Orchard with live commentary from the composer.
