CU Symphony Orchestra (2019)

This program includes the audacious and thrilling "Symphonie Fantastique" by Hector Berlioz. With a program clearly intended to be autobiographical in nature, Berlioz broke new ground with his masterwork. Soprano Sabina Balsamo, winner of the graduate division of the College of Music's Honors Competition in early 2019, will perform "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss. The program will open with Berlioz's tuneful and exciting "Roman Carnival Overture."

Performance date and time:

Tuesday, Sep. 24, 7:30 p.m.

Program:

Hector Berlioz: "Roman Carnival Overture," Op. 9; Richard Strauss: Four Songs; Hector Berlioz: "Symphonie Fantastique"
