The Marriage of Figaro (2020)
When a lecherous count sets his sights on his servant Figaro’s fiancée, Figaro and his friends seek retribution in the form of hilarious hijinks and mischievous escapades. A rollicking combination of wit and seductive orchestrations, Mozart’s infamous Italian caper about the differences between the working and ruling classes “”is subtle, witty … and immensely sophisticated—but also tuneful and infectious”” (NPR).
“The Marriage of Figaro” is presented by the Eklund Opera Program. CU College of Music faculty and students—often joined by guest artists—bring spine-tingling musicianship to CU’s stunning Macky Auditorium. With lavish scenery and costumes and the CU Symphony in the pit, it’s opera of the highest order.
