Amalia Adiv

AMALIA ADIV is an actor, writer, and educator. She holds a Master’s degree from NYU in Educational Theatre with an emphasis on applied theatre, ethnodrama, and verbatim interview theatre. She was a member of the 2018-2019 Apprentice Acting Company at the Barrow Group as well as the Journalists Devising Company. Excerpts from Amalia’s solo play were recently shared as a part of the Barrow Group Artist Residency and she was chosen to continue development of the play in the summer of 2019 as a part of the Barn Arts Collective residency cohort. On multiple occasions, Amalia has written curriculum for and performed with the Verbatim Performance Lab. She conducted research for and appeared in the Lab’s original ethnodrama, Of a Certain Age, which explores the experiences of performing artists and ageism. Amalia has also appeared in "The Serena Williams Project" and in the Lab’s most recent verbatim video series, "Portraits US: COVID 19." Amalia also recently performed in "Another Number in the Pool," an original verbatim work produced by Luna Stage Company.

As an educator, Amalia has worked with children of all ages including teaching intensive verbatim workshops to high schoolers and spending four years full time in a preschool classroom. Amalia has a strong background in early childhood education and develops classes for preschool aged children that use process drama and imaginative play to foster social and emotional growth. She is a current cast member with Beanstalk, a children's online learning platform. Amalia's classes are offered live and on-demand.
