Luigi Attademo

Luigi Attademo is an award-winning guitarist. Having studied under composer Angelo Gilardino, Attademo has worked with composers like Alvaro Company, Dusan Bogdanovic, Alessandro Solbiati, Giorgio Gaslini, Michele Tadini, and Sofia Gubaidulina among others. He has worked in the Archive of the Andrés Segovia's Foundation and has performed concerts around the world, including in Europe, Australia, Argentina, the United States and India. Attademo has also recorded several CDs ranging from Baroque music to Segovia Repertoire. His extensive list of recorded CDs include recent work with "Guitar Review," Bach's music for the lute, a dedication to Scarlatti's Sonatas, the complete works for guitar solo by Niccolò Paganini by Brilliant Classics, another CD dedicated to Paganini music for guitar and viola and a recent CD on 19th century repertoire played using six historical guitars. Attademo had the prestige of being the first performer of Alessando Solbiati's new work for guitar and 15 instruments and has performed many concerts playing original guitars by Antonio Torres. He has also curated an exhibition dedicated to Torres by the Museo del Violino in Cremona. Attademo received his Doctorate in philosophy with his disseration on musical interpretation, for which he was later published, and currently teaches at ISSM Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo, Italy as head of the strings department. Often called upon for his expertise and invited to lecture, he is welcomed at the Geneva and Lausanne Conversatories and the Royal Academy of Music of London.
