Patrik Kleemola

One of the most prominent Finnish guitarists, Patrik Kleemola has a wide-spanning repertoire ranging from 16 century Italian music to new contemporary compositions. Kleemola was the winner of the II Guitaristival "Takemitsu" International Guitar Competition in Finald and has earned prizes in Gargnano's International Guitar Competition. He has played in concerts in Buenos aires, Rome, Milan, Athens, Turin, Tallinn, Helsinki and more around Europe and South America. Other solo and music festival appearances include Bergamo Festival Internazionale della Cultura in Italy, Turku Music Festival in Finland, Tallinn Guitar Festival in Estonia, Nuovi Spazi Musicali in Italy, 5 Ciclo di Musica Contemporanea in Argentina, Feria del Libro in Uruguay and Lidköping Music Festival in Sweden. Kleemola has performed chamber music alongside artists like Topi Lehtipuu, Se ensemble, Bobby Chen, Martin Fogel and Susanna Andersson. Through numerous collabroations, Kleemola has had over 30 premieres of contemporary works. His first CD, titled "Perchitarrasola, was released in 2012 to outstanding reviews. He received his education from the Turku Music Academy under Timo Korhonen and Ismo Eskelinen, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena with Oscar Ghiglia and finished at the Monopoli Conservatory with Massimo Felici. Having given masterclasses in Argentina, Italia, Estonia and Finland, Kleemola currently teaches guitar at the Turku Music Institute and Academy. He is the Aristic Director of the Brinkhall Summer Concerts and President of the Turku Guitar Association. Kleemola proudly plays a guitar from English guitar maker Brian Cohen.
