Claire Gunsbury

Claire Gunsbury is currently pursuing a BM in Flute Performance, BM in Musicology, and Certificate of Music Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado Boulder under the guidance of Christina Jennings. She is the recipient of the Sher Distinguished Musician Scholarship at CU and is an avid chamber musician, currently performing with harpist Shelby Roberts. Passionate about new music, Claire has premiered a number of works by student composers in the Pendulum New Music series at CU. Claire performed at Carnegie Hall in November 2018 with guitarist Max Mondzac, and was Grand Prize Winner of the 2018 Colorado Flute Association’s Young Artist Competition. She has performed in master classes for renowned flutists such as William Bennett, Lorna McGhee, Jim Walker, Judith Mendenhall, and Claire Chase. In 2019, Claire was an orchestral fellow at the Texas Music Festival, and for the past few summers has been a featured soloist and advocate for youth music education with the Lakes Area Music Festival in her hometown of Nisswa, Minnesota.
