Anna Whiteway

ANNA WHITEWAY (Gretel) earned her master’s degree in voice performance at University of Colorado Boulder in 2018 and is honored to still have a home at the College of Music as a second-year Artist Diploma student, continuing to study voice with Bird-Arvidsson. She has performed with the Eklund Opera Program in the roles of Ginevra in Handel’s "Ariodante," Pamina in "Die Zauberflöte" and the title role in "The Merry Widow." Whiteway completed her bachelor’s degree in voice performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she sang several principal roles with the opera program there. Whiteway has sung as a studio artist with Colorado’s Central City Opera Company, participated in Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance program in New York City, and the Aspen Music Festival, studying with Carol Vaness. She began studying singing in her hometown of La Crosse, Wisconsin, with baritone Daniel Johnson-Wilmot, whom she gratefully credits with helping her discover her love for singing opera.
