Catherine Gillies Jaicks

CATHERINE GILLIES JAICKS, mezzo-soprano and Chicago native, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in vocal performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder. Jaicks graduated with honors and the Pi Kappa Lambda prize in music from the College of Wooster, where she studied with Carrie Culver. For her senior Independent Study, Jaicks created a recital based on themes drawn from theorist Susan McClary’s "Feminine Endings," featuring works of Strauss, Barber, Cipullo, Larsen and others. After graduating, Jaicks studied privately with Tanya Kruse of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a current student of Julie Simson.
