This summer, we present a weekly series of videos featuring the artists you know and love from past Shakespeare Festival seasons. In this episode, Shunté Lofton explores the juicy inner thoughts of her character, Celia, from CSF’s 2019 “As You Like It.”

Shunté Lofton received her BFA from the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance. In 2019, she played Celia in “As You Like It” and Jess in “King Charles III” at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Prior to CSF, she spent five seasons working at the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA where she performed in 22 productions. Some of her favorite credits include Ophelia in “Hamlet,” Princess of France in “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” Celia in “As You Like It” and Lady Anne in “Richard III.” Selected regional credits include Perdita in “The Winter’s Tale” (4th Wall Theatre Company), Esther in “Intimate Apparel” (University of Houston) and Anya in “The Cherry Orchard” (Classical Theatre Company).
