Join us for “Crossing Over,” a half-classical, half-jazz recital by University of New Mexico trombone professor Chris Buckholz. The program features works by Rodion Shchedrin, Jacques Castérède, Frederick Innes, Harold Danko, Richie Beirach, Ray Noble, Vernon Duke and Woody Shaw. Buckholz will be joined by Luke Gullickson on piano.

Chris Buckholz is a virtuoso crossover artist in both classical music and jazz, and is assistant professor of trombone at the University of New Mexico. He has three solo CDs to his credit and is the first trombonist to have released both a classical and a jazz solo CD. Buckholz holds degrees from Wake Forest University, Yale University and the University of Michigan and is a Yamaha performing artist.
