Nicola Sani, composer and music director of the Accademia Chigiana, presents the music of Nicola Sani in the context of the development of Italian music from the avant-garde of the 20th century to the today's new trends. The program will discuss the development of Italian avant-garde music from the beginning of the 20th century, with the "Generation of the Eighties" (Pizzetti, Malipiero, Casella), passing through the most innovative post-World War II figures (Maderna, Nono, Berio, Scelsi, Evangelisti), up to the current trends of the new generations.
Nicola Sani (born 1961 in Ferrara, Italy) is an Italian composer and media artist. He studied composition with Domenico Guaccero, Antonio Scarlato, Guido Baggani and electronic music with Giorgio Nottoli. He also took courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen and David Keane.
