The Turn of the Screw (2019)

“[Eklund Opera Director] Leigh Holman has achieved such heights in her tenure that it seems almost unthinkable that she could reach a new level of excellence.” ~Kelly Dean Hansen, Daily Camera

Benjamin Britten’s 20th-century English chamber opera—replete with both tonality and dissonance—is something of a horror story, based on Henry James’ disturbing novella of the same name. A young governess is terrorized by suspicious apparitions in a classic tale of the end of innocence, the struggle between good and evil … and supernatural realms.

"The Turn of the Screw" is presented by the Eklund Opera Program. With lavish scenery and spine-tingling musicianship in CU's intimate Music Theatre, join Eklund Opera for a show you will be talking about all year.
