Academy of St. Martin in the Fields with Iona Brown

The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is one of the world’s premier chamber orchestras, renowned for its fresh, brilliant interpretations of the world’s most-loved classical music.

The Academy was created to perform the larger chamber works with players who customarily worked together, instead of the usual string quartet with additional guests.

Iona Brown, a British violinist and conuductor, joined the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields in 1964,, working her way up through the ranks to become leader, solo violinist and director in 1974.
