Internationally renowned klezmer musicians Cookie Segelstein, violin, and Joshua Horowitz, accordion, perform music from their latest release, "The Magid Chronicles." The concert features musical treasures collected by the Soviet-Jewish ethnomusicologist Sofia Magid (1892–1954), along with new compositions, improvisations and re-compositions inspired by and/or derived from the Magid collection. Segelstein and Horowitz combine archival and creative impulses with virtuosity and joy.
This event is presented in partnerships with the Program in Jewish Studies.
