Swinging Jazz, steaming Flamenco and suave Flamenco-Dance are the evening's fare. Bassist Brian Casey, composer-guitarist Steve Mullins, hand percussionist Rudi Monterroso and dancer Salli Gutierrez join vibraphonist-marimbist Doug Walter for music that explores melodies made up on the spot, standards by Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington, chords and combos never heard before, and musical partnerships developed through deep friendship via tours in the U.S. and Europe. Unique music played with fervor and amour.
Renowned CU Boulder College of Music faculty artists perform with students and colleagues in chamber music recitals featuring world premieres and beloved classics. Free most Tuesdays August through March.
