The term “glass ceiling” was first introduced in 1978. Now, 44 years later, it's still painfully relevant in describing the multiple barriers and inequalities we face in our society. Claudia Anderson performs music that explores the glass ceilings that remain stubbornly durable even as they thin; borders we may and must cross among musical cultures and genres; and the unintended but inevitable intertwining between breath in music and in the taking of it by human cruelty.
The CU Boulder College of Music welcomes professional musicians from around the world in its series of guest artist recitals. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance for audiences to experience expert-level performances of dynamic works for free. Join us for this performance today; it will be ticketed somewhere else tomorrow.
