Eklund Opera Scenes

The 21st century has been deemed the “Golden Age of American opera.” CU Boulder students present “Living Opera: Stories of US,” in which they explore the art of directing and their creative process, and present scenes from important American operas in the 20th and 21st centuries.

These operas present new settings of beloved stories such as “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “JFK,” “Pinocchio” and “A Streetcar Named Desire,” as well as new stories that are relevant to social topics of today.

From orchestras, bands and choirs to jazz, world music and opera to world-class faculty and guest performances, the CU Boulder College of Music brings hundreds of stunning performances to Boulder audiences throughout the academic year.
