A celebration of Ricardo Viñes and Maurice Ravel at 150
2025 marks the 150th birthdays of both pianist Ricardo Viñes and composer Maurice Ravel, who were friends from age 10. Viñes was the pianistic inspiration for both Ravel and Claude Debussy as they developed their ways of writing for the piano; his pianism also had a seminal influence on other composers of the period. The program will feature works dedicated to and inspired by Viñes for one and two pianos including a complete performance of Ravel’s "Miroirs."
Renowned CU Boulder College of Music faculty artists perform with students and colleagues in chamber music recitals featuring world premieres and beloved classics. Join us for this free series in person at Grusin Music Hall or via livestream most Tuesdays from August through March.
