The Acting Studio (C240) is located on the second floor of the east wing of the University Theatre Building.

The Acting Studio (C240) is a versatile performance space. When you are standing in the lobby of the Roe Green Theatre, look to your right up the stairs, where you will see the studio’s red wall. There is no late seating in the Acting Studio for ticketed performances. Arrive early to choose a great seat in this general admission venue.

Public Transportation

Boulder residents can catch a number of local buses to campus, including the Skip, Dash, 204, 225, Hop and Stampede.

Denver metro residents can catch the Flatiron Flyer, serving the Highway 36 corridor between Denver Union Station and the CU Boulder Campus. 

Longmont residents can catch the Bolt into Downtown Boulder and transfer to any of the local bus routes mentioned above to reach the CU Boulder campus.

Biking

You can ride right up to the show, as all CU Presents venues have banks of outdoor bike racks nearby. Using Google Maps for directions is easy: just type in your starting point and destination and select the bicycle symbol.

Don't have your own wheels? Boulder B-cycle's easy, affordable bike-sharing system boasts 41 bike stations located around town and on the CU Boulder campus. 

Skateboarding

Skateboards are not allowed in our venues, but it's free and easy to store your board nearby. A skateboard rack is located in front of the Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry lecture hall, on the east side of the courtyard fountain. Don't forget to bring your own lock.

Ride Service

Ride services such as Lyft, Uber or Boulder Yellow Cab (now called Z-Trip) can drop you off near the venue.

Parking

Whether you're coming from down the street or from out of town, CU Boulder Parking and Transportation has various parking options for you. Pay for parking at the pay stations, or download the Parkmobile smartphone app for quick, easy parking reservation and payment.

Accessibility

2023/24 ADA Parking Update

Due to Hellems building construction, ADA parking in lot 208 is currently unavailable. To alleviate this, on show nights at the University Theatre building, we will be using lot 233 as an ADA drop-off zone. Patrons with ADA needs will be able to be dropped off in this lot allowing easier access to the building. The Euclid Avenue Autopark or Pleasant Street have ADA parking. Lot 233 is for drop-off usage only. Parking during the show will not be permitted in this lot. 

Wheelchair-accessible elevators

Elevator access to the Box Office and accessible restrooms in the lower lobby are reached via the east entrance to the University Theatre Building. Elevator access to the Acting Studio is reached via the south entrance to the University Theatre next to the loading dock.

Patrons in wheelchairs can be accommodated at each Acting Studio event. If you'd like to make prior arrangements in order to receive the best possible seating, please call the Box Office at 303-492-8008. 

Service dogs allowedService dogs

Subject to some limitations, service animals that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability may accompany patrons in all CU Presents venues.

Assistance animals (therapy animals, emotional support or comfort animals) are generally not allowed to accompany patrons into our venues.

Concessions are available at CU Theatre & Dance performances courtesy of CU OnStage. 

Policies

Late seating 

There is no late seating in the Acting Studio for ticketed performances.

Electronic devices

Update to Laima's version from the COM venues thread: Laptops, tablets, phones and other mobile devices must be switched to silent mode in the hall. All screens must be off when performers are on the stage to avoid disturbing other patrons.

Recording devices

No photography, video or sound recording of any kind is allowed during events.

Safety

To ensure your safety in case of fire or any other emergency, please note the exit route nearest to your seat when you arrive.

Smoking

Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the CU Boulder campus.
