How to play a streamed performance
  1. Log in to your CU Presents account.
    1. Visit cupresents.org and select “Account” in the top right corner of your browser OR simply click here.
    2. Enter your email address and password and select “Log In.” You will be redirected to the “Upcoming Events” area of your account dashboard.
  2. Select “Digital Content” in the menu on the left side of the browser window.
  3. Select the “View Content” button next to the event you want to display.
  4. FOR A CAPTURED EVENT: Press play. Both video and audio should begin immediately.
  5. FOR A STREAMED PERFORMANCE: Wait for your event to begin. Once it starts, you may need to click the streaming window to unmute the audio.
    1. In some browsers, the event will not display its start on time if you log in early. At the top of the performance, you might need to reload your browser to prompt the stream to begin.
Stream a test event

Why wait for the day of your performance? Work out the kinks now with our free test event!

  1. Begin by “purchasing” access to the performance here. (Don’t worry — it’s free; no credit card required!)
    1. When you click the link, you will be directed to the test event. Select “Digital Access: $0.00.”
    2. Use the drop down menu that appears to add a ticket to your cart. Select “Purchase.”
    3. You will be directed to your digital shopping cart. Select “Check out.”
    4. From here, you will be redirected to log in to your account or create a new account. Not sure if you have one already? See the FAQ on this page for step-by-step instructions on how to create an account, log in to an account, or reset a password.
    5. Once you have logged in, you will be redirected to an Order Details page.
    6. Scroll to the bottom, select “Enter Payment.” You’re all set! You will be directed to a confirmation page.
  2. Now to test the performance! You can do so immediately or at a later date. It’s up to you.
    1. Select “Account” in the upper right hand corner of your browser window.
    2. If you’re revisiting this test at a later date, you will be prompted to log in. Once you do so—or if you’re already logged in because you just ordered the test ticket—you’ll be directed to the “Upcoming Events” area of your account dashboard.
    3. Select “Digital Content” on the menu on the lefthand side of your screen.
    4. Select “View Content” for the event title “Takács Quartet Digital Test.” From here, you’ll be able to play a free performance from the Quartet and test your video and audio functions. Enjoy!
Best practices for a successful streaming experience
  1. Most streaming services recommend at least 25 Mbps per second for a successful streaming connection. Test your internet speed to ensure you have strong enough bandwidth to play the performance.
  2. For a more consistent internet connection, use an Ethernet cord to connect your router or modem directly to your device.
  3. Temporarily disconnect over devices from the internet to boost your signal strength.
Common technical errors
  1. If you’re experiencing buffering or a blurry connection, test your internet speed. Most streaming services recommend at least 25 Mbps per second for a successful streaming connection.
    1. Try moving your streaming device closer to your router or modem, or connect directly with an Ethernet cord.
    2. Kick other devices off your network temporarily.
    3. Try clearing your browser’s cache.
  2. If the streaming event isn’t starting on time, try reloading your browser or logging out of your account and starting fresh.
  3. Missing audio? First, confirm your speakers are connected with the volume at an appropriate level. Second, make sure the video itself is not muted—either by clicking the video window or selecting the video’s volume icon.

When in doubt, restart. Restart your browser! Restart your router! Restart your computer! Don’t shy away from the classic advice: “Have you tried turning it off and back on again?”
