Pianist Willis Delony has always been interested in discovering actual, implied or maybe only imagined connections among musical styles. In a professional career that spans more than four decades, he has gained acclaim as a classical and jazz performer, a commercial arranger and a composer whose concerts and recordings showcase varied interests. In this recital, works by Frédéric Chopin, Claude Debussy and crossover compositions by Delony himself will be paired with a duo set with Director of the Thompson Jazz Studies Program John Gunther.
CU Boulder’s College of Music welcomes professional musicians from around the world in its series of guest artist recitals. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance for audiences to experience expert-level performances of dynamic works for free. Join us for this performance today; it will be ticketed somewhere else tomorrow.
