Chip Persons
Chip Persons’ directing credits include Timothy Braun's “Angelina”, Steven Cole Hughes’ and Jessica Jackson’s “The Presidents!”, “Singles Night”, an evening of one-person shows by BFA Acting seniors, selected works with Write Out Loud San Diego, and assistant directing “Going to a Place Where You Already Are” with Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (where he is an ensemble member). As an actor, Chip has appeared with the Old Globe Theatre, Lamb's Players Theatre, Write Out Loud San Diego, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Stories on Stage, Local Theater Company, the Arvada Center, Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, Theatre for a New Audience, and other Off-Broadway venues, overseas in Prague, on network TV in “Law & Order” and national commercials and in “The Phantom 52”, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Chip is head of the BFA Acting major at the University of Colorado. His own training started at San Diego Junior Theatre and the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He holds a BFA from UC Santa Barbara and a MFA from Columbia University. He is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA.
