Summer Camps
CSF Education offers summer camps for kids and teens on the CU Boulder campus to expand their understanding of Shakespeare through engagement and practice. Camps include Camp Shakespeare (ages 9-18) and Shakespeare’s Sprites (ages 6-9).
The Bard’s Book Club
CSF Education and Outreach staff host a monthly Shakespeare-themed book club on Zoom. More info on each session here.
Classics 101
Each season, CSF dramaturgs host an informal webinar series to introduce the plays we’ll produce that season. It’s a great way to learn about the historical context, production history and behind-the-scenes aspects of Shakespeare’s plays. More info.
Prologues
CSF offers a free, informal pre-show talk—called “Prologue”—45 minutes before all performances (excluding previews). Prologues include background on each play’s historical context and introduce characters, plot, themes, and more. Location and other information is shared by email with all ticketholders.
The Bard’s Backstage Pass
Two days behind-the-scenes of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s summer season. Includes roundtables with CSF artists, backstage tours, and more. More info on this year’s offerings here!
Dramaturgy Presentations
Looking for a Shakespeare expert? Hosting a Shakespeare-adjacent book club or event? CSF staff dramaturgs Amanda Giguere, PhD and Heidi Schmidt, PhD, are available for to speak to your group about upcoming CSF projects and programming for a reasonable fee. Be Shakespearean. Immerse Yourself in Shakespeare with CU Boulder’s Applied Shakespeare Graduate Certificate.
CU Boulder allows Shakespeare enthusiasts to gain a professional education through the Applied Shakespeare certificate program. This one-of-a-kind program is a partnership with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, which allows students to gain hands-on experience as they work alongside nationally recognized experts.
