CSF in the Schools: Shakespeare & Violence Prevention Tour

grades 3-12

Actors in classroom facing each other while children watch.

Reservations now open for the 2025-26 school year! Two performance options available:

  • “The Tempest” (30-minute performance, recommended for grades 3 to 5)
  • “Hamlet” (45-50 minute performance [TBA], recommended for grades 6 to 12)

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival’s touring program uses live performance and the latest school violence research. Students improve their Shakespeare literacy AND learn safe and effective intervention strategies they can use when they see mistreatment happening around them.

How does it work? Professional actors from CSF perform an abridged Shakespeare play onsite at your school (no field trips required), followed by 50-minute classroom workshops that help students connect situations in the play to situations they face every day. Students can step into the shoes of characters from the play and roleplay creative solutions. Bring some fun, interactive engagement to your classroom!

Almost 140,000 Colorado students have experienced this innovative program – shouldn’t yours be next?

Workshop Guidelines

  • Limit of 30 students per classroom
  • Workshops typically scheduled Tuesdays or Wednesdays during the school day.
