She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, where she attended as an Eileen Phillips Cohen string quartet fellow, a full-tuition award that involves formal recital performances, intensive coachings, masterclass opportunities and community outreach. She went on to receive a master’s degree at CU Boulder, studying with Harumi Rhodes. She is currently continuing her studies with Rhodes while pursuing an Artist Diploma in solo violin. Kennedy has participated in masterclasses given by ensembles such as the Pacifica String Quartet, Arianna String Quartet, Brentano String Quartet, Takács Quartet and the Smetana Trio. She was awarded first prize in the 2020 Bruce Ekstrand Competition and presented J.S. Bach's Chaconne as an Ekstrand semi-finalist in 2019. She is the teaching assistant to Robert Hill at CU Boulder and also serves on the assistant faculty of Stringwood Chamber Music Festival in Lanesboro, Minnesota. This year, she looks forward to participating as a virtual performer fellow in the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Music Academy and collaborating on a variety of chamber music projects. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and being outside.
