In Shakespeare’s unforgettable farce, two pairs of identical twins and a troupe of madcap characters make for one hilarious night of music, magic and mistaken identities.
Kevin Rich (Illinios Shakespeare Festival, American Shakespeare Center, Nebraska Repertory Theatre) directs a cast of CU Theatre & Dance Department's zaniest young performers in this laugh-out-loud production. In the intimate Loft Theatre, tickets sell fast, but every audience member gets a front row seat to one of Shakespeare's funniest comedies.
"These plays were written to be performed and enjoyed, not analyzed. If you approach Shakespeare from a 20th-century theatre perspective, you lose some of the authenticity. Performing in a black box theatre will allow us opportunities to shake off the formality a little."
