“Song of Pueblo” with CU Boulder Chamber Orchestra and El Pueblo Ensemble

The CU Boulder Chamber Orchestra and the El Pueblo Ensemble collaborate to present a multimedia performance of “Song of Pueblo,” a sweeping oratorio that portrays the history of southern Colorado. Daniel Valdez, renowned for his work on acclaimed films like “La Bamba” and “Zoot Suit,” as well as his memorable duets with Linda Ronstadt, is the composer and creative force behind this compelling composition. “Song of Pueblo” explores significant moments such as the defeat of Comanche chief Cuerno Verde, the arrival of immigrants to work in the steel mill, the Pueblo Flood and the tragic events of the Sand Creek and Ludlow massacres. Orchestrated by alumni Max Wolpert and Ilan Blanck, this program suits audiences of all ages.

Free additional performance on Oct. 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Pueblo Memorial Hall, 1 City Hall Place, Pueblo, CO 81003. Learn more.
