The CU Boulder Treble Chorus + University Choir spring concert, “Lead with Love,” invites you to a program of community-centered themes focused on gathering, love, service, hope and transformation. Please join us to celebrate the masterful collaborative work and joyful spirit of both choral ensembles as we mark the end of the spring 2025 semester!
Featured selections include Eric Whitacre’s beloved “Five Hebrew Love Songs” with BB Seidenberg (DMA student, violin performance), Sarah Hopkins’ groundbreaking “Past Life Melodies” which incorporates rarely heard overtone singing techniques, as well as “Whispers”—an original composition by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, Steven Stucky, which brilliantly weaves in quotations of William Byrd’s “Ave Verum Corpus.”
Additionally, Blake Clawson and Zachariah Smith—MM students, choral conducting—will conduct music by William Byrd, Undine Smith Moore, Mari Esabel Valverde and RV Williams; the program will also feature our wonderful collaborative pianists Robert Hjelmstad and Gabriel Lowman.
The spectrum of musical styles represented further includes compositions by B.E. Boykin, Aaron Copland, Melanie DeMore, Francisco Ibáñez Irribarria, Susan LaBarr and Richard Smallwood.
From orchestras, bands and choirs to jazz, world music and opera to world-class faculty and guest performances, the CU Boulder College of Music brings hundreds of stunning performances to Boulder audiences throughout the academic year.
