Join the CU Boulder Wind Symphony for its final concert this semester featuring an evening of music and thoughtful dialogue. The event begins at 7 p.m. with a distinguished panel discussion during which experts will explore the themes behind “The Full Hundred”—a new work by Associate Professor of Composition Annika Socolofsky that offers a powerful commentary on pay inequities between men and women in the workforce.
At 7:30 p.m., directly following the panel discussion, the performance opens with Richard Strauss' Serenade, Op. 7 followed by Anna Clyne's “Masquerade” and the world premiere of “The Full Hundred.” After a brief intermission, the evening concludes with Ottorino Respighi's “Pines of Rome” (transcribed by Jacob Neffs).

The Wind Symphony comprises the College of Music’s most outstanding wind, brass and percussion students. Founded in 1978, the group is committed to performing the finest wind repertoire, regardless of era or ensemble size—ranging from recently performed works by Ida Gotkovsky and the college’s own Carter Pann to additional diverse works by Carlos Simon, Omar Thomas, Joan Tower and Xi Wang. The Wind Symphony also values the importance of collaboration by working with various faculty and guest artists. Performances on campus and across Colorado, as well as at conferences and abroad, have earned the ensemble international acclaim.
