[UN] W.R.A.P. Dances That Don't Look Like Dances (2019)

Works by Michelle Ellsworth and Brian Rogers

The New York Times hailed Brian Rogers' dance film "Screamers" as "a movie that creeps to its own choreographic beat" and declared Michelle Ellsworth's work "eccentric and marvelously original art [that] defies easy categorization." In this year’s [UN] W.R.A.P., these two innovative artists come together to expand your definition of dance.

Tickets sell fast, but in the dynamic Charlotte York Irey Theatre, every audience member gets a front row experience to the extraordinary works from CU Dance.

Creative Expression: Dancer turns everyday experiences into art

“CU has an unbelievably expansive definition of dance,” Ellsworth said. “The dance department is incredibly experimental with an exquisite commitment to understanding the complexity of contemporary performance, whereas many other dance programs are still mired in a European esthetic.”
