Doug Walter's Flamenco-Jazz Swan Song

Free, no tickets required
Faculty Tuesdays

After 50+ CU Boulder faculty recitals since 1990—and 200+ solo recitals and concerti elsewhere—Professor of Percussion and Jazz Douglas Walter retires in June 2025. For his marimba-vibraphone swan song, Walter is joined by friends and colleagues Brian Casey, bass; Steve Mullins, guitar; Carl Dixon, percussion; and Victor Mestas, piano. Experience Walter originals plus swinging jazz standards by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jerome Kern and Bill Evans; as well as world premieres of flamenco music by Steve Mullins. It will be a festive, melodic and virtuosic evening full of vim, vigor and vinegar. ENJOY!

Renowned CU Boulder College of Music faculty artists perform with students and colleagues in chamber music recitals featuring world premieres and beloved classics. Join us for this free series in person at Grusin Music Hall or via livestream most Tuesdays August through March.
