Made in America
This program—"Made in America"—features works by American and Mexican women composers Joan Tower and Gabriela Ortíz. "La Calaca," composed by Ortíz, is an evocative work for string orchestra and "Made in America" is, in Tower's own words, "... my unconscious reacting to the challenge of how do we keep America beautiful." The program will also feature Franz Schubert's charming Symphony No. 3.
