Ekstrand Memorial Graduate Student Competition

CU Boulder's top College of Music graduate students compete for a monetary grand prize in the Bruce Ekstrand Memorial Graduate Student Performance Competition, named for former Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Bruce Ekstrand.

This year's esteemed panel of judges are Basil Vendryes, principal violist of the Colorado Symphony; baritone Jonathan Hays, opera and concert soloist; and flutist Ysmael Reyes, alum and 2006 winner of the Ekstrand Memorial Graduate Student Competition.

From orchestras, bands and choirs to jazz, world music and opera to world-class faculty and guest performances, the CU Boulder College of Music brings hundreds of stunning performances to Boulder audiences throughout the academic year.
