The inaugural performance of CU Boulder's Thompson Jazz Composers’ Orchestra presents an exciting program of original compositions and arrangements by the creative voices of the Thompson Jazz Studies Program. Directed by Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies Annie Booth, and featuring works by student and faculty composers and arrangers, this concert celebrates CU Boulder’s vibrant community of jazz creators and showcases the breadth of musical styles and artistic voices within the program.

Featured composers and arrangers include students Nick Mailes, Lucy O’Byrne, Milo Trout Lewon and Ian Schultz alongside faculty members Annie Booth, Brad Goode and Gregory Gisbert. The program will also pay special tribute to the late Paul McKee (1958-2026), a beloved member of the CU Boulder jazz faculty, with a performance of an early piece from his oeuvre, "Tsunami" (1983).

This concert features: Toshiro Chun, Keegan Arnsmeier, Graeme Appel, Avi Bergman, Evan Schneider, Trumpets; Addison Jordan, Alto Sax 1, Katelyn Garmon, Alto 2; Caleb Abbott, Tenor Sax 1; Lucy O'Byrne, Tenor Sax 2; Raleigh Eversole V, Baritone Sax; Nick Mailes, Eddie Topel, Stephen Carlisle, Trombone; Ben Garcia, Bass Trombone; Jeff Buchanan, Guitar; Milo Lewon, Piano; Danny Kaminski, Bass; JJ Mazza, Drums.
