Eugene Onegin (2019)

“Holman and Carthy keep raising their own bar. [The] orchestra is, as usual, phenomenal.” ~Kelly Dean Hansen, Daily Camera

In 19th-century rural Russia, romance and tragedy unfold in the fates of two sisters. While Tatiana spends her time reading novels, Olga is courted by a neighbor who introduces a new visitor—Eugene Onegin—with whom Tatiana falls in love. What happens next reveals timeless themes of jealousy and heartbreak set to Tchaikovsky’s dramatic score.

"Eugene Onegin" is presented by the Eklund Opera Program. CU College of Music faculty and students are joined by guest artists on stage, and members of the CU Symphony fill the pit orchestra. With lavish scenery and spine-tingling musicianship in CU's stunning Macky Auditorium, join Eklund Opera for a show you will be talking about all year.

Sung in Russian, with English surtitles.
