The Drowsy Chaperone

“The perfect Broadway musical.”—New York Magazine

Music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison; book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar, by special arrangement with Paul Mack

When the houselights dim, a person appears and puts on their favorite album: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. Suddenly, the recording comes to life onstage! Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, “The Drowsy Chaperone” is a masterful meta-musical that pokes fun at all the tropes that characterize the Jazz Age genre, complete with one show-stopping song and dance number after another.

From orchestras, bands and choirs to jazz, world music and opera to world-class faculty and guest performances, the CU Boulder College of Music. brings hundreds of stunning performances to Boulder audiences throughout the academic year.
