Martha Graham is recognized as a primal artistic force of the 20th century, alongside Picasso, James Joyce, Stravinsky and Frank Lloyd Wright. Diverse sources—including modern painting, the American frontier, religious ceremonies of Native Americans and Greek mythology—inspired her ballets. Today, as it celebrates its 100th anniversary, her company continues to honor Graham’s spirit of ingenuity by showcasing her masterpieces alongside works by contemporary artists inspired by her legacy.
