The CU Boulder Chamber Orchestra presents “Music that Moves: a Ballet, a Tango and a Folk Dance.” American composer Aaron Copland’s iconic ballet “Appalachian Spring,” originally for 13 instruments, depicts the resilience and hope of the American spirit; Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla’s “Tangazo: Variations on Buenos Aires” is at once sorrowful, passionate and spellbinding; and Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály’s enchanting and exhilarating treatment of gypsy bands in “Dances of Galánta” concludes the program.
