Faculty Tuesdays
The Italian Tenor
Nicholas Perna and Jeremy Reger present a program charting the development of the Italian operatic tenor voice through the 19th and 20th centuries. Repertoire includes selections by Franz Liszt, Judith Cloud, Ildebrando Pizzetti and Ottorino Respighi. The evening will feature five University of Colorado Boulder graduate voice students joining them for the famous “Lucia Sextet” by Gaetano Donizetti, and they will be joined by Mandy Spivak, assistant professor of voice at University of Northern Colorado, in a large excerpt from Act 3 of Giacomo Puccini’s “Tosca.” The program concludes with a couple of favorites popularized by tenor Mario Lanza.
